Photography Is Not Dead!
True photography is not an era, fad, or news cycle. Photography is a medium for storytelling and communication that will never disappear; it is an essential part of telling the human story of why we are here, what we did, and where we are going. The tools and reasons may change, but for more than two hundred years, this has been people’s main choice for capturing expression, storytelling, and memories, and that is not going anywhere.
Our goal is to unite and inspire current and future photographers to show amazing images and pictures with others in ways that technology brings us together. We want to celebrate the originality and uniqueness of the human mind. This is for people who love the hunt for subjects, the gathering of knowledge, the creation of a great image, and campfire tales after the day’s trials, triumphs, and results with other humans who can relate.
If the only way for you to make an interesting image is to spend hours on the computer to make it “pop” or buy the latest editing tools or AI bots to make it get more likes on social media, you are not a photographer; you’re a digital artist. Computers will replace you because you are just copying those who are trained on others’ works, just like them. Get out of the doom-loop, carbon-copy business, and make your mark.
Leaving your mark is about being original, outthinking, and being more creative than computers with INTENT, EMOTION, and PURPOSE.
Where is the next Robert Frank, Sebastião Salgado, Trent Parke, or Jered Polin?
